COSRX AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid Review

A gentle and affordable AHA that provides maximum results. How does COSRX's AHA compare to the other Asian Beauty standard, Mizon AHA 7% Peeling Serum?

Scent: Hard to describe, but it smells like dirty chemicals. I've read others describe it as quite foul smelling, but for me, the smell is not too overpowering and dissipates really quickly. 

Texture: Watery

Pyrus Malus (Apple Fruit) Water, Butylene Glycol, Glycolic Acid, Water, Niacinamide, Sodium Hydroxide, 1,2- Hexanediol, Panthenol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Xanthan Gum, Ethyl Hexanediol

I use this after applying Vitamin C and BHA. I wait 5-10 minutes between each step. I generally apply my actives at night, as I don't have enough time in the morning. After applying, I wait 5-10 more minutes and continue with my First Treatment Essence. 

 This is the second Asian AHA product I have tried, after using Mizon AHA 8% Peeling Serum (Review Here). I have to say, I prefer the COSRX for my skin type. I found that the Mizon version was too strong for my skin and caused it to peel too much that I was constantly flaking anytime I tried to amp up the use. With the COSRX product, I was able to work my up to using it every two days very quickly without having the amount of flakes I was getting with the Mizon. 

The amount you get for the price is also more appealing than the Mizon. You get 100 mL compared to the 40 mL from Mizon. 

I've used this for a month and it has worked on improving my skin texture. My skin feels a lot smoother and softer when I keep up with using these chemical exfoliators. I will keep working on increasing my use of the product as my skin grows to tolerate it. I like the addition of this product to my routine and so far, this is the best Asian AHA I have tried. 

I can't give this product the amazing rating I gave to COSRX BHA, due to the fact that I don't see as major of a difference to my skin. I have more of a problem with sebaceous filaments and blackheads that BHA makes a more noticeable difference to me.
